COVID
PRECAUTIONS
CAMP SIZE
We are currently limiting camps to 6 children to limit the risk. My son will be running a second camp on the property in a nearby, but separate location. His maximum capacity is 12.
MASK REQUIREMENTS
We will wear masks all the time except when eating, which is done outside and socially distanced.
OWNER/COUNSELOR
I have received the vaccine. I am inoculated and will also be wearing a mask.
TIME SPENT OUTSIDE
We usually spend about 80% of our day outside and 20% inside with four doors open (two doors into the kitchen directly, one right next to the kitchen and the front door 15 ft away) and any nearby windows as well. This causes quite a cross-breeze. I am looking at trying to spend 100% of our day outside but this causes some issues and I will have to see where we are at as summer approaches. I am happy to work this through with parents 2-4 weeks before campers arrive.
ENROLLING AS A GROUP OR POD
Some campers have chosen to enroll as a pod where they already know each other and feel more comfortable with the families involved. This can bring a level of both physical and mental comfort. I recommend this approach. If you can't do this I often request families to answer a few questions so that I can match them up with their level of caution.
MINIMUM NUMBER OF CAMPERS
The minimum camp size is 5 campers. if you have 4 and really want to enroll the group the other four will have to split the cost of a 5th person. Becaue they won't be eating any food the cost would be an extra $80 per person
HAND WASHING AND TEMPERATURE TAKING
We wash hands several times a day especially as campers arrive and before they begin cooking.
